Tuesday, February 08, 2011: Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar today announced a number of initiatives designed to encourage rapid and responsible development of renewable energy on public lands.  The proposals from the Department’s Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the policy guidance from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) provide clarity and guidance to stakeholders, including developers and employees, about smart siting and effective mitigation for renewable energy projects. 02-08-11 BLM-FWS Renewable Energy Guidelines FINAL

Agree – at least he added “responsible” unlike Cheney’s programs in “secret”.

These renewable energy projects are not going away – hopefully some of us can have some positive and constructive impact to keep the wild horses off the chopping block – no reason they can’t coexists with a little effort.

Sounds like a basement fire sale.

Yep Tracey–that “rapid” “responsible” seems a “bit” conflicting. And the afterthought that the “wild horses that roam the America’s rangelands are available for adoption” needs to be the “wild horses that used to roam America’s rangelands—

after watching a show on hbo which originally aired on pbs last year called Gasland – i am so against what this country is doing to farmers and ranchers and our wildlife, including wild horses and burros – its about how giant companies have put in natural gas wells all across states and they use water to pump it out and then water is poisoned with chemicals that they dump out in large ponds but it also gets into the ground water – making people and their animals sick – and there is also a large gas plume filled with chemicals – this was all under cheney and our public lands – these people that own the lands where the wells are or who live near blm land were paid but so many have gotten sick they are now speaking up – you can probably buy video from pbs website
