Some of you have already seen this, but I’m posting this message to the list and email groups to catch anyone who hasn’t.
Terri Farley’s opinion piece ran today (the same day as Bob Abbey’s.) It’s definitely worth the read.

    Seems to me the BLM would get more bang for its buck buying or trading land in the West, considering land prices vs. the Midwest & East. Maybe some of the vacant “checkerboards” and ranches for sale, hopefully with water rights. I’m sure they could find a use for existing ranch buildings if they used some imagination.

    Sec. Salazar must consider purchasing land for “sanctuaries” both legal and within his scope or he wouldn’t have introduced the proposal in the first place.
